It is unclear why moderate coffee consumption provides protection from heart failure, but the authors say part of the answer may lie in the relationship between regular coffee drinking and the two strongest risk factors for heart failure namely, diabetes and elevated blood pressure.

When friends ask about coffee and your drinking habits, feel free to tell them the truth – that it tastes good when it’s done right and that it’s good for your health. Or at least according to this study. We would add that the release of stress with a good solid morning or evening cup of coffee has to be of some benefit as well.
